GARAGE DOOR REPAIR
Garage door repair: springs, cables, tracks and panels
Broken springs, off-track doors and damaged panels, handled by technicians who carry common parts. The office explains the problem and the price before any work starts.
Chapter 01
Broken springs, stuck doors and tracks that have walked off
A garage door tends to fail at the worst moment, usually with a car inside or a cold morning ahead. The most common story is a torsion spring that gives out, and the door suddenly weighs more than any opener or person can lift.
One customer called us for exactly that: 40 year old garage doors, a broken spring and a car locked inside. Her Google review says the response was quick and the price reasonable, and that it was the second time she had used us. Another homeowner wrote on our own site that the door was stuck open in winter, and a technician arrived the next morning and had it fixed in just a few minutes.
Springs are only part of the list. We also see doors that have jumped off their track, cables that have frayed or slipped, rollers that have worn out, and panels dented by a bumper or a basketball. In many cases individual panels can be replaced without installing a full new door, which can save a good door from the scrap pile.

What happens when you call the office
The first question is about safety. If the door is stuck open or half open, leave it where it is. Do not try to release or adjust the torsion springs yourself, because they hold enough tension to injure you. A technician secures the door first and then looks for what failed.
Our technicians carry common parts on the truck, so many calls end with the door working before they leave. We aim for same-day response in Yakima and the nearby towns we serve, and exact timing depends on call volume and where you are. Most residential repairs finish in one visit when parts are available, and the technician tells you plainly if a part has to be ordered.
Before any work begins, the office explains what is wrong, what your options are and what it will cost, so nothing on the invoice is a surprise. If the damage is bigger than a repair should cover, we will tell you that too, and show you the replacement doors on the showroom wall at 1118 N 6th Ave.
Chapter 03
Yearly service, and the small signs a door is asking for it
Most residential garage doors should be serviced at least once a year to stay safe and smooth.
During a maintenance visit the technician checks every component, from the springs and cables to the rollers and safety sensors, and adjusts what has drifted. Valley summers and freezing winters are hard on moving parts, so a door that was balanced two seasons ago may no longer be.
The band below lists the small signs that a door is asking for attention. A call at the first noise is usually a shorter visit than a call after something snaps.

Signs your door needs service
None of these means the door is about to fail, and all of them are worth a phone call.
- A grinding, scraping or banging sound while the door moves
- The door takes longer to open or close than it used to
- One side rises or drops ahead of the other
- Cables that look frayed, loose or off their drum
- A door that stops partway or will not stay closed
- Rollers that wobble, or tracks that look bent
Sensors and remotes acting up? That is often an opener question, covered on our openers page. If the door is past saving, see new garage doors or, for a warehouse or yard, commercial overhead doors. We work across Yakima, Selah, Naches, Moxee, Wapato, Union Gap, Toppenish, Sunnyside, Grandview, Mabton and West Valley, so check the service area. More choices are on the services page, and the office is reachable through the contact page.
